The following is an excerpt from a transcript. It is taken from an interview recorded at a secured location. Certain details have been deliberately omitted.

AUTHOR: Please state your name.

CHRISTOPHER: You can call me Christopher.

AUTHOR: Is that your first name, or your last name?

CHRISTOPHER: I’m not allowed to say.

AUTHOR: You’ve been talking to Griff.

CHRISTOPHER: Don’t let him get to you. I learned real fast that some of these people are a little to tightly wound, if you know what I mean.

AUTHOR: They’re all so serious.

CHRISTOPHER: Fisk is cool, once you get to know him. Doris is the one you need to watch out for. She’ll rub you the wrong way without even trying.

AUTHOR: I noticed that you got a rather sudden and brutal introduction to all of this. Did Fisk really give you a join-or-die speech?

CHRISTOPHER: [laughter]

AUTHOR: I don’t understand. Why is that funny?

CHRISTOPHER: I’m not laughing at you, man. I’m just thinking that you’ve got a lot of weird stuff to sift through. Yeah. Sure. That’s how he put it to me. Join or die.

AUTHOR: Damn.

CHRISTOPHER: What’s your story? I know they picked you to write about all this. Why’d they pick you?

CHRISTOPHER: Just lucky, I guess.

CHRISTOPHER: Luck has nothing to do with it. These guys don’t go to the bathroom without a plan. You must have some special skill or point of view that they want. Were you threatened?

AUTHOR: No.

CHRISTOPHER: Why did they pick you to write this book?

AUTHOR: Griff seems to think I’m not going to editorialize.

CHRISTOPHER: Everybody’s got a bias.

AUTHOR: Why didn’t you go to the police with what you know?

CHRISTOPHER: What am I going to say? No. Really. Stop and think about that for a minute. What am I going to say to the cops? They’d blow me off in a hot minute, and I wouldn’t blame them. Even I told ‘em where to find the secret sites I know about. Homeland Security might investigate, but Doris would have me dead inside of a week.

AUTHOR: Do you believe in what Fisk and his partners are doing?

CHRISTOPHER: Of course.

AUTHOR: What convinced you?

CHRISTOPHER: I did my job. I kept my eyes open. Eventually, I saw enough to convince me that they’re on to something.

AUTHOR: You do understand that Madeline Hill is President because Fisk and his fellow conspirators used every dirty trick they could thin of to rig the election.

CHRISTOPHER: We haven’t had an honest election since 2000. Democrats and Republicans are both tampering with the system. Fisk’s conspiracy is no worse than what’s already being done. FBI, CIA, and Homeland, they all know this stuff is going on. Nobody’s lifting a figner to stop it.

AUTHOR: How would you describe your working relationship with William Garrison?

CHRISTOPHER: He’s a good guy. I’m not sure that his head is always in the game, but he’s got a lot of heart. He’s going through a rough patch just now, but I think he’ll pull through okay. I like working for him.

AUTHOR: Have you ever met Enola?

CHRISTOPHER: Are you kidding?

AUTHOR: Do you know who she is?

CHRISTOPHER: Generally speaking, yes.

AUTHOR: You’ve seen her?

CHRISTOPHER: Yes, but never in person.

AUTHOR: Intersting. They must keep you on a pretty short leash.
